At Mani Kang Nepal Treks & Adventure, Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking itinerary continues for just 10days. After exploring UNESCO sites in Kathmandu, we will drive to Pokhara. Ghorepani Trek begins at Nayapul. We will walk through rhododendron forest. The trail continues through Gurung,Thakaliand Magar ethnic communities. Poon hill Trek route is considered as an ancient trade route used by locals to trade with Tibetans. The trail continues through Annapurna Conservation Area where we can get plenty of bird watching opportunities. Although this trek can be taken throughout the year, months from September to December and February to May are considered best season for Poon hill trekking. When you land at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will go through custom and visa formalities. As you exit from the Arrival Hall, you will find our representative waiting for you with placard in his hand. Look for your name in a placard. After receiving you, he will transfer you to the three-star category hotel. Get refreshed. Later, you will get briefing regarding the trip. Explore the surroundings. Have a comfortable stay.
After breakfast, you will join for guided Kathmandu City Tour. Out of 10 UNESCO cultural sites in Nepal, 4 of them exist in Kathmandu alone making it the historical city. We will start the tour by visiting Pashupatinath Complex which is the most significant Hindu Temple in Nepal. Non- Hindus are not allowed an access in the main temple premises but you can still observe cremation ceremony at the bank of Bagmati River. You will also visit Bouddhanath which was listed in world heritage site in 1979 A.D. This is also known as mini Tibet in Kathmandu. Next stop will be at Swoyambhunath which is the oldest Buddhist Stupa located at the top of the hill. Swoyambhunath is the oldest stupa that dates 2500 years back. Drive further to Kathmandu Durbar Square- the ancient Royal Palace. Hanumandhoka Museum, Kasthamandap Temple, KalBhairav Statue and House of Living Goddess are places of interest. Return to hotel for comfortable stay. In the afternoon, you can shop for any trekking equipment that you require.
Pokhara is separated from Kathmandu by 200km distance. We will follow Prithvi Highway all the way to Pokhara. It takes almost 5hours to reach Pokhara from Kathmandu by private vehicle. The path is scenic with views of green hills, mountains and rivers. Pokhara is a clean and green city. In the evening, we will visit to Phewa Lake where you can enjoy boating before returning back to hotel.
After breakfast, we will leave hotel. We will take an hour long drive toNayapul via Lumle village. We can get panoramic views of Annapurna at the backdrop before reaching Nayapul. After brief walk along Modi River, we will pass through Ramgai and Sudamevillages and reachHile. We will continue to climb to TikheDhunga where we will stay overnight.
Leaving Tikhedhunga, we will follow the trail to Bhurungdi River. Once we cross this river, we will climb stone steps and reach Ulleri which is inhabited by Magar ethnics. Walking further through rhododendron and oak forest, we will arrive at Nangethati from where we will continue to climb through forest area to Ghorepani. Stay overnight at Ghorepani.
From Ghorepani, we will take about 40minutes of walk to reach Poon hill which is named after Poon ethnics that inhabit in the village. Poon hill is popular for sunrise view over Annapurna. We can get panoramic views of Nilgiri Peak, Tukuche Peak and Annapurna Mountain from Poon Hill. We will descend to Ghorepani and take breakfast before walking further to Tadapanithrough Banthati. Stay overnight in Tadapani.
We will leave Tadapaniafter taking breakfast. The trail lowers down from Tadapani through rhododendron and spruce trees. We will reachthe largest Gurung village of the region, Ghandruk where we will enjoy knowing local Gurung culture in Ghandruk Museum. We can enjoy local cultural show in the evening. Stay overnight in Ghandruk.
From Ghandruk, we will descend all the way to Nayapul through Birethati. Nayapul is the end point for Ghorepani Poon hill trekking. It takes an hour to reach Pokhara from Nayapul in a private vehicle. Spend the afternoon as you like. You can explore Pokhara Bazaar. Seti Gorge, International Mountaineering Museum and Gupteswor Cave are other places of interest in Pokhara.
After taking lunch in Pokhara, we will follow Prithvi Highway back to Kathmandu from where you will be transferred to hotel. Spend the free time as you like. Take rest or go for shopping in Thamel. Stay overnight in a hotel.
You will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport three hours before your scheduled flight. Have a safe journey. We hope to see you soon.
