Makalu Base Camp Trek is a glorious adventure along the foothills of the Himalayas to the base camp of Mt. Makalu (8,463m). Soon after arriving at TIA, you will move to your respective hotel. On the second day, you will take a 50-minute flight to Tumlingtar enjoying the stunning views of the Himalayas to the north of Nepal. From Tumlingtar, you will take a short drive towards Chichila from where our real trekking begins. The drive will take you through the terraced farmlands and forested area. Along with occasional distant views of Makalu (8,463m), you will start your ascend through hilly trails crossing the settlement of Num. The trail passes through the village of Seduwa and proceeds towards Makalu Barun Conservation Area along with fast-flowing Barun River. Similarly, crossing the settlements such as Tashigaon, Khongma Danda, Yangri Kharka, and Langmale Kharka, you will finally reach Makalu Base Camp. Along the way, you will also cross three major passes: Tutu La Pass at 4,080 meters, Keke La Pass at 4,127 meters, and Shipton La Pass at 4,170 meters. At the base camp, you will get a glorious view of Mt. Makalu (8,463m), Mt. Everest (8,848m) and Lhotse (8516m) alongside countless other Himalayas. Following back the same time, you will now return to Tumlingtar, from where you will take a flight back to Kathmandu. Spring and autumn are the best seasons for the trek.
