Located to the north-east of Sindhupalchowk district, Panchpokhari trekking allows relatively new off-the-beaten trekking trail experience. PanchPokhari is the Nepali term for Five Holy Ponds. A huge fair is organized each year during Janai Purnima Festival in the sacred PanchPokhari Lake during which Hindu and Buddhist devotees from far and wide visit this pilgrimage site. Along with a religious significance, PanchPokhari is equally known for its intriguing mountain views including DorjeLakpa (6966m), Jugal Mountain, PurbiGyachu Peak (6,637m), Rolwaling Range and other peaks and mountains. Thus, PanchPokhari trekking allows a highly satisfying experience of wilderness trek and insight into the rich cultural heritage of Tamang, Newar, Brahmin, Chhetris and Gurung ethnics.
Standard Panchpokhari trekking itinerary at Manikang Treks continues for 16 days. Also known as Five Lakes Trekking, this is a deeply satisfying spiritual trek that begins from Chautara. We will take 5hrs of the drive to Chautara from Kathmandu and then cross small streams, walk through alpine meadows, climb high passes and traverse rhododendron and bamboo forest where wildlife including langur, rhesus monkeys, deer, and different local and migratory birds have found their shelter. PanchPokhari Trek is not much difficult and can be joined by adventure lovers who have normal physical fitness. Our professional staffs will see to it that you get the most out of your dream adventure in PanchPokhari.
