My husband loves trekking whereas, while I like walking, I am not a trekker but it doesn’t stop me from going to Nepal.
In March while my husband was off trekking 2 girlfriends (50’s) and myself (mid 60’s) spent 2 weeks in Kathmandu and Pokhara using Pasang and Tenzing as local tour guides. Both friends are not experienced travellers and while excited about going to Nepal were apprehensive and a little worried.
Pasang and Tenzing met us on arrival and immediately their friendly, gentle, helpful manner was apparent. They took us to change money (counted the money as well to ensure we’d been given the correct amount), set up our phones and then we were off for a full day of amazing sight seeing.
This attention to detail continued for the whole time we spent with either Tenzing or Pasang. Nothing was too much trouble. One friend fell ill and Tenzing brought medicine and rang regularly throughout the evening and early morning to check her recovery.
Transport, eating places and even a private cooking class, including the shopping for ingredients, at an aunty’s home was arranged. We spent wonderful days seeeing as much as possible and more in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
Tenzing deserves a medal. Spending several hours a day with 3 females is probably trying enough but on our long “shopping”days his endless patience and assistance was outstanding. A day we spent buying several thangka’s in Bhaktapur was a highlight but must have driven him crazy!
Thank you to Tenzing and Pasang for giving my friends and I the trip of our life. It’s a holiday we’ll never forget.
P.S. In the previous year when my husband had a medical emergency Pasang organised the hospital visit, accompanied him to hospital and sat with him throughout the examinations required.

We went for a photgraphy scouting tour in Nepal. We relied on Tenzing and Pasang from Manikang to guide us to various places. These guys did not only help us perfectly to find what we wanted, we also learned a lot of Nepalese and Buddhist culture from them. They are great to talk to and we had a lot of fun on our tour. I hope we can come back soon!

As a team these bright young men will expertly manage your trekking experience , and are more than happy to take care of the small stuff such as book your bus ticket to Pokhara or help you change money and navigate the chaotic streets of Thamel. They both hold their guide licences and treat their staff very well, having been employees themselves prior to starting their own business. The company is TAAN registered, the office is positioned well in Thamel and easy to find. Their computer skills and English are to a high standard so any correspondence that needs to take place prior to arriving in Nepal will be smooth, prompt and efficient. Their rates are also very reasonable. I wish them every success for a bright and prosperous future.

Trekking and photo tours in Nepal are excellent, but highly recommend using a SHERPA guide for safety reasons and GUARANTEED success! Tenzing Sherpa and ManiKang have guided me on many photographic culture tours since 2015. From greeting me at the airport with colorful scarves, finding the best masala tea house, excellent vantage spot at a festival, or a colorful alley with local markets, I get super SHERPA service, always on time and accommodating for the creative process. Tenzing is fluent in English, Hindi, Chinese and Nepali, is a reliable resource of knowledge of the mountains for landscape photography, as well as the culture, villages, monasteries, and religious locations. He takes me into very remote locations to get "the shot," at the right place, at the right time, and is very affable with the locals. He photographs with a Nikon camera and iPhone, understands light, location, and subjects. He is a highly experienced and trained mountaineer (8+ years) for ABC, Mt Everest base camp, and Tibet, as well as attentive and accommodating, a beautiful example of "Sherpa Service" at affordable costs. Pasang Bal is great at making all the in-country travel arrangements, making sure the tour runs smoothly and timely, ensuring the best accommodations and of transportation at the most economical price. Tenzing is so professional and very quick to respond. Always friendly, he is willing to provide all the necessary information. I am planning a trip to Nepal for next year and in the last few weeks he has given me useful information about itineraries from different destinations.
